How to Post a Project and Invite Subcontractors
To find the right subcontractors for your project, you need 2-4 bidders for your project. Make sure you include specific details so that subcontractors can accurately price the project and you can easily compare bidders.
Here is how you can post a project on Site Worker and invite subcontractors:
Step 1: Once you’re logged in your account, click “+ Post Project” on the left side of the menu bar.
Step 2: On the following screen, you’ll be asked to enter project details. It’s a 4-step process, as you see in the progress bar on the top.
You can enter project details manually or by uploading an excel file. Here, we’ll choose “Add Manually” to add project details.
Step 3: Enter Project Details.
- Project Title: A short and precise yet clear project title.
- Client Name: Enter the company name manually or choose from the drop-down list.
- Region and State: Enter the location of the project’s site. Type in or select from the drop-down list.
- Industry Type: Enter your industry type, manually or from the drop-down list.
- Bid Due Date: Deadline for subcontractors to bid on the project
- Start Date: Project start date
- Estimated Completion Date: Estimated date of project completion
- Work Scope (Optional): If you’ve a file explaining milestones, reports, deliverables and other things related to the project, you can upload it.
Finally, choose if the bid is negotiable or not and the project type.
Step 4: Once all is set, click on the Jobsites button to move on to the next step.
You’ll see this message in the bottom left of your screen:
Step 5: Enter the Jobsite.
Now, you’ve to provide details of the project location (jobsite). You can choose an existing jobsite from the drop-down list in the left pane:
If there’s no existing jobsite, you’ll have to add it manually. Click on the New Jobsite button in the left pane.
Step 6: Enter the following details about the jobsite:
- Jobsite Title: A precise and clear jobsite title
- Job Code:A unique code that is associated with the job
- Job Location: Location of the work
- Job Description: Explain the jobsite clearly and inclusively. Subcontractors use these details to determine work location and find workers accordingly.
Also, enter the city, state and zip code of the jobsite. You can also upload the “Work Scope” file at this step.
Once done, click on the Save & Next button to save details and move on the next step.
You’ll see that the jobsite details have been added to the project. You can also add multiple job sites, if the project has to be carried out at multiple locations.
Step 7: Next, you’ve to add LineItem for the jobsite. For this, select the jobsite:
Step 8: Click on the +LineItem button in the left pane.
Step 9: Create LineItem for your project.
You can select from predefined bid templates or make your own manually. Click on the Blank Template to create manually.
Step 10: Scroll down to create your project line items (you can enter multiple line items). Line Items define the type of work involved.
You can replace the “Work Type” by any relevant and descriptive title depending on the nature of the job.
Step 11: Once you’ve entered all details, click on the Save & Next button to move on to the next step.
You’ll see that the line item has been added to your project:
Step 12: Add a Milestone.
Click on the + Milestone button in the left pane.
Step 13: Enter the milestone name and milestone %. To add a line item for the milestone, click on the + Line Item button.
Step 14: Select the Line Item from the “Available” list on the left and click the “>” sign to move it to “Selected” on the right.
Step 15: Once done, click on the Save button.
Step 16: Finally, click on the Save & Next button to move on to the next step.
Step 17: Click on the Review & Confirm button:
Review your project and jobsite details carefully and make any necessary changes. Once confirmed, click on the Post Project button.
You’ll see the following message in the bottom left of your screen:
Step 18: Select and Invite Subcontractor.
On the following screen, you’ll see a list of subcontractors for you to choose for your project. You can filter the list according to your preferences:
Step 19: Click on the +Add button to select a subcontractor.
You’ll see the list of all selected subcontractors on the right side of your screen.
Step 20: Click on the Invite button to invite all selected subcontractors to bid on your project.
You’ll see this message on your screen. Invite has been successfully sent to all selected subcontractors.
Now, wait for bids from selected subcontractors!
